Lucy's Nursery Reveal - The Brunette One

The week Lucy was born the final piece of her nursery arrived, the beloved rug from Homemakers, a Loloi x Rifle Paper Co. beauty. It was delayed due to Covid, but the timing worked out perfectly. This rug is what I pulled all the inspiration from for her nursery. Not changing the the furniture or the paint was a fun challenge to work with updating just the decor pieces to truly make it hers. As a reminder, here was the before and here was the inspiration for her nursery. Jack still sleeps in here and will until we can transition him to sleeping in his twin bed (he’s almost ready…but not quite). We have the rocker, diaper station, and Lucy’s bassinet in our room for the time being, so once we transition Jack, we will move Lucy into her room and all the furniture will play musical chairs once again.

I spray painted a thrifted frame, thrifted a few decor items (the bunny rattle, frames, and table lamp), sewed her a new pillow case (thanks Mom) and updated the book shelves by spray painting them green. My parents had held onto my little wooden rocking chair from when I was little, so I had it brought over to put in her room. It fits perfectly in the little reading nook. I still need to update the seat cushion on it, but she won’t be using it for quite some time (and Jack would throw it on the floor in the mean time).

I still get all the same feels that I did when I completed this room before Jack’s arrival and I can’t wait to rock Lucy to sleep in this room, to see her play in here, try and lock her brother out of this room. I cherish the time spent in this room the last two years with Jack and it just gives me all the feels that I will get to watch her grow up in here too (and one day decide that Mom’s decorating is lame and she will want to redecorate herself).
