I’m an indecisive designer. By designer, I mean designer of the spaces in my own home (I don’t design anything outside of that, really lol). A few weeks ago I put together a post discussing the plans I had envisioned for Jack’s new bedroom (keeping the original Simply Green on the walls and just painting the trim). Pinterest, a paint debate, and actually deciding on some furniture has taken me down a different path of inspiration for the room. I’ve had my eye on the paint color Boothbay Gray for quite some time. I saw in a friend’s nursery she posted on Instagram, and then realized after doing some image searching on the paint that my favorite home bloggers, Chris Loves Julia recently used it on a bedroom makeover. It’s haunting me. The dilemma? Cody loves the green currently in the room and wants me to keep it. He’s even offered up his untouched bathroom for me to paint it the blue-gray hue.

When I originally designed the bedroom, it was as our guest bedroom and I was so intentional about that green color and how it all came together. I just don’t have that same feeling about the design of Jack’s bedroom keeping the same green paint color. I’ve currently swatched the gray on the wall and am now struggling on which route to go. It would be easy to touch up the green, paint the trim white, and call it a day. But if you know me, I don’t make things easy for myself.

The blessing in all of this paint debate, again, it wouldn’t be me designing a room without a million and one debates about paint color, is that I was easily able to pull together the design elements of the room that I *hope* look good with either wall color. I pulled a lot of inspiration from the Chris Loves Julia bedroom makeover, and thankfully I can find some more affordable dupes or even use some of the same items (like the lamp from Amazon)!

Here are a few shots of our guest bedroom showcasing the Boothbay Gray inspiration photos vs our actual bedroom painted Simply Green (reads darker in these professional photos).

What color would you choose in the end? PS. I took a poll on Instagram and even Chris Loves Julia weighed in…I’ll give you one guess which color they voted for! :)

Here is the actual room in question with the Simply Green by Dutch Boy Paints.
