A Spring Wish List

Every year when Spring rolls around, I’m always itching to update different areas of my wardrobe! Especially after a year where there has been little excuse to dress up, the warmer weather has me itching to bring some new goodies into rotation! I just celebrated a birthday and we have had some warmer weather that is giving me a glimpse of summer…so here are a few things on my wish list and you could add to yours as well…especially with Mother’s Day quickly approaching!

  1. Neutral Tan Sandals – Every year I tend to fall in love with a neutral tan sandal and wear them to death. I have an entire closet full of shoes, but as I get older and I refine my style a little more, I tend to gravitate towards a neutral sandal that goes with just about everything.
  2. Madewell Baseball Cap – A non-logo’d hat! Trying to wrangle two kids these days is a feat in itself. Hair styling is low on the priority list some days, if not most days. A simple hat that matches any outfit is on my list. Plus, between a hat and sunscreen, I’ll be set for time outside as the weather continues to warm up! I do have my eye on this leopard hat, but I feel kind of in-authentic since I don’t follow any baseball team – haha! Wishing they had it in a Iowa Hawkeye logo!
  3. Twisted Hoop Earrings– These hoop earrings from Aurate are so fun – my jewelry is pretty low key, I tend to wear the same pieces time and time again. This is a fun twist – pun intended – on an earring for spring! Plus they aren’t too big that Lucy’s little hands will find them too appealing.
  4. Floral Knotted Headband – Self-promotion alert! I started designing and making knotted headbands because sometimes, you just need a little something extra to help pull your look together, or help hide day 2/3 hair! These floral knotted headbands from my Etsy shop, Finley James, are some of my favorite designs!
  5. Smocked Dress – Trend alert! Smocked dresses with puffy sleeves are going to be everywhere and I am here for it. I love a good statement element, you don’t need to add much else to your look to pull it all together (add the slides from #1 and the hoop earrings from #3 or #8 and you are good to go!).
  6. Beach Read – I treated myself to a few new romcom novels. I finally feeling like I’m out of the haze of newborn life, transitioning to two kids, and finding a little downtime once kids go to sleep. I have a huge goal this spring to put my phone down more and pick up a book! 2020 skyrocketed my screen time and I want to actively change that habit of mindlessly scrolling.
  7. Stackable Twist Ring – To be honest, I already own this ring, but I want more, they are meant to be stacked :) . I wore this ring in lieu of my wedding rings when I was pregnant with Lucy. Now, I wear it on my right hand and feel naked without it.
  8. Huggie Hoop Earrings – These little huggies are adorable! Like I’ve stated before, my jewelry look these days is minimal but impactful and purposeful. I love solid gold jewelry and how it can elevate your look, even if you are wearing leggings day in and out! You can pair these hoop earrings with other huggies (like these infinity heart earrings I’m wearing below), larger hoop earrings, and studs. Wear them together or separate to create a fun ‘ear party’ – check more inspiration over at AuRate.
  9. Cut-off Denim Shorts – I am not sure if the perfect jean shorts exists, but I know Madewell knocks it out of the park with their jeans, so I would be excited to try these cut-offs or these ‘mom-jeans shorts’ . Not too short, or tight, and just enough raw edge.
  10. Tiered Spring Dress – Another statement dress, and nursing friendly too! This teal number is from Target and perfect for brunch – which I can’t wait to experience later this spring and summer when patio weather is back and we can safely eat outside!
