Life, Lately

It’s been a hot minute since my last blog post! Things have been a little crazy in the real world the past few weeks. I have a few fun collaborations in the works, along with a few drafts of post that I am finally going to get posted next week. My day job has been crazy since I came back from vacation in March (did I mention that I went to Panama City, Panama…I have a few iPhone photos to share from that vacation), so between work and real life, I’ve had to hit pause on blogging…but I’m back! Here’s a recap of what’s been going on in my world as of late…

Theo

First and foremost, my nephew, Theodore James, made his appearance almost three weeks ago. My brother and sister-in-law live in another state, so we traveled up to visit and meet our newest nephew. I cannot contain my excitement and love for this little guy!

Design Sponge

My guest bedroom makeover was photographed and featured on Design*Sponge. Life goals, people. Life goals. It’s such an honor to be asked, I still can’t believe my work was on their site!

Paint Samples for Kitchen Area

More to come on this, but I’ve been trying to find the perfect shade of paint for our first floor. In the daylight the Tavern Taupe isn’t a bad shade of brown but once night falls, the entire first floor feels so dark and closed in, I couldn’t stand it anymore. The real issue, however; happens to be the color of the trim, doors, and baseboards. I’ve learned that designers for spec homes should never, ever pick a yellow/cream based paint color for trim, doors, and cabinets. Just pick a nice standard white and call it a day. Trying to find the right shade of gray to not turn all my trim yellow has been very trying for me. …flat face emoji (x100). UPDATE – I ended up with Revere Pewter…more to come on this and a few updated iPhone snaps in an upcoming post.

Lola rug

We were struggling with our kitchen space and finding the right rugs for the area. We had three small rugs in front of our island/dishwasher, sink, and stove. I decided it would be more conducive to have an area rug to help mask any wear and tear, plus it’s easy to vacuum. I went back and forth on a few designs, but saw a coupon code come in from Lulu & Georgia and snatched up this rug.

What’s been going on in your world? Things as crazy for you as they are for me? Let me know in the comments below!
