A Holiday Entry Way

A few months ago I convinced Cody to create our own custom entry way table. Inspired by a few tables I’d seen on Pinterest, I knew I wanted more of a rustic/modern table – a reclaimed wood console table to be exact. I purchased four hair pin legs and then we waited until we could find the perfect piece of reclaimed wood. Cody spent a few days sanding and staining and we finally got to install. Due to the custom size of the table (it couldn’t be wider than 10″), we only used two of the four legs and added L-brackets to the wall to secure the table.

Then the table sat empty for weeks just begging to be styled. This is where Minted came to the rescue! Minted is an online marketplace connecting you with independent artists from all over the world. Minted sources it’s pieces through on-going art competitions. With so many options, I knew that Cody and I may not come to the same decision on artwork for this space. So, like we did for our living room, I selected my top five pieces and Cody narrowed it down to one. To balance out the artwork over the long and narrow table, I picked up these mirrors at World Market and layered them over one another to create some depth.

The holiday touches are my favorite and will feel so bare once the season is over…then it’s back to the drawing board!

  1. This looks so good Sam!! I love that you pick your top 5 then let him decide what one he likes best– I might have to start using that method with Eddy!! I think it’s time I plan a trip to DSM to see your home, it looks so beautiful!! Miss you girl! :)
