Cheers to 2015

From planning a wedding to marrying the love of my life to a scary leap of faith when I changed careers and recently deciding looking for a house, 2014 brought many blessings and challenges to our front door. I can’t begin to imagine what 2015 may bring. While my follow-through isn’t the greatest with New Year’s resolutions, here is a quick list of my goals for this coming year.

Have more patience. I’m often ‘too busy’ and rush through life to the next project, task, job. I need to remind myself to be present in the moment, listen to those around me, and to let things happen as they should. I’m only 26, still so young and need to embrace the rest of my twenties to figure out where my place is in this big wide world, in reference to my career and future of this blog. Blogging has taken a back burner this year between planning a wedding, getting married, a blog migration, and a new, demanding career. I need to find a place that takes me back to where this is a driving force in my life, but still find that balance to enjoy the things around me (trust me, this is entire other post for another day).

Time with friends & family. I’m a dreamer and a planner. I want to accomplish so many things in my career but at the end of the day, my husband, our family and friends trump pretty much everything else. Time spent drinking too much wine, endless laughter and countless memories win out, always.

To explore. To have a fashion and lifestyle blog, means to live a life with some adventure to reflect upon. I want to spend more time exploring in this amazing city we live in and spend more time traveling without having an iPhone attached to my hands at every moment.

More time creating. I love creating and with a new house search upon us, this is the perfect time to dive into new worlds of projects.

To live healthy. I’ve slacked in this department recently in both eating and working out. I ended up leaving the gym I joined this summer (so expensive!), so my goal is to try more at home yoga sessions to relax, strengthen, and tone. My goal, as it is every year, is to eat more meals at home and try and eat healthy lunches!

PS. A quick note of thanks to all that have followed along and supported The Brunette One over the years and stuck with us through a slower blogging season. Your kind words and endless support are what make this space a place I continually want to come back to every day!

Happy New Year!

  1. Eating out is something I’m going to be working on as well! It’s been out of control lately. Cheers to 2015 :)

Cheers to you as well! I’ve been good this week – no coffee or lunch dates, though we did get some carry out on New Year’s and last night! Sometimes we get a little lazy for dinner but overall I feel great that I’ve made it a week without splurging on morning and lunch purchases (one week down, many to go!) :)
