Guava Family Lotus Travel Crib Review

The holidays are just around the corner and while our family may not be experts on traveling with a baby, there are a few things that can help make the process just a little bit easier, like the Lotus Everywhere Travel Crib

I am a notorious over-packer and while I may travel with a large bag to ensure all options are accounted for, one thing I don’t want to travel with is a large, inconvenient, and cumbersome portable crib for Jack. Babies come with enough baggage (literally) when it comes time to travel: diaper bag, overnight bag, car seat, stroller, blankets, toys, and of course, snacks. Can’t forget the snacks!

The rookie mom mistake I made from the get-go is not registering for a travel crib. It didn’t even cross my mind. I had a bassinet for our bedroom and a rocker for the living room. So the first time we traveled, I ended up picking up a pack-n-play off of Facebook Marketplace that’s worked for the time being.

Guava Family offered to send us the Lotus Travel Crib to review and I jumped at the chance. When I was pregnant last fall, I used to dream about this their bassinet that converted into a travel crib, but I already had a bassinet that I received at my baby shower, so I bookmarked the website so I wouldn’t forget the brand. I’m so glad I did, because after a few trips with our very large and in-charge pack-n-play taking up all the space in our cars, I knew something had to change.

The Lotus Travel Crib is a dream. It’s super user friendly, light weight and set up is a breeze. I cannot wait to travel with it at Thanksgiving and it’s currently set up in our living room. With Jack on the move, it’s hard to get anything done around the house, so I can set up the crib with a few of his toys and get things cleaned up or dinner made.

Jack loves the zippered side access. He can crawl in and out and because it’s level with the ground, he has no problem getting in and out of it to grab his toys. The zippered side access also makes it a little easier to get him in and out of when he’s sleeping. I don’t necessarily have to bend over the top edge to lay him down (short mama problems), but I can ease him into the crib through the opening.

I would say one of the biggest takeaways of the Lotus Travel Crib is the the compact size when it’s folded up. Not only does it take up a small footprint to begin with, it also offers both a shoulder strap AND a backpack strap option. Life changing. Most parents can attest to juggling all the things when leaving the house and packing your car or traveling, if only you had an extra set of hands. Well, just throw the crib on your back, and there you go!
