While we have our nursery ready for Baby M’s arrival, we are still a work in progress getting other rooms in our home ready for baby. It was after Lola marked her territory TWICE within a few weeks of one another on our wool rug that I began researching for an alternative rug solution. If it were up to my husband, he would get rid of any rug completely, however; that’s just not how I roll.
Enter Lorena Canals Rugs. I stumbled upon the brand on Instagram and they had me at the words, “natural” and “machine-washable.” Their rugs are made from natural dyes, handmade in India, are eco-friendly, and contain no VOCs like most carpets and rugs do. Talk about kid and pet friendly. Sign me up.
To clean up after Lola on our wool rug, I tried every type of pet stain remover and hope for the best. With our new rug, I just have to toss it into my washing machine and it’s as good as new and it won’t shed like our other one did. With a new baby on the way and a dog that unexpectedly marks her territory from time to time, I knew our wool rug was a thing of the past. We are going to be spending a lot of time in this space and we found the perfect solution. Plus it is so soft, Lola loves lounging on it, and I know I will feel comfortable putting down a play mat or blanket for Baby M and there are no harsh chemicals and the rug is so soft!
Lorena Canals offers so many different styles of rugs, cushions, and accessories, I had a hard time deciding on a pattern. I knew I wanted to keep a similar aesthetic to our previous rug, so I went with the Bereber style in beige. Not only do these rugs work great in living spaces, they are perfect for nurseries, I’m obsessed with their new Terrazzo patterned rugs! I can’t wait to pick up a few cushions for Baby Mack’s room and maybe put a few of these baskets around our living room and bedroom to keep some sort of organization of baby toys.
