This past Saturday, I decided to forgo heading back to Iowa City and stay in Des Moines to enjoy some of the finer things Des Moines offers in the summer time. My mom and I decided to brave the heat wave and head to the Downtown Farmers’ Market. We made sure to grab breakfast bowls from the Farm Boys Hearty Food Co. stand, hand-picked fresh flowers, and of course, purchase my favorite black raspberry sweet rolls.
