As we slowly have settled into our new house, we are finally ready to tackle our living room. I’ve teamed up with Havenly, an online decorating service to help bring our living area together. After selling our old recliner and replacing our old couch (we ended up having to sell it as it wouldn’t turn the corner into our newly finished basement), I was left at a loss on how to complete our living room space (see my first round of inspiration here).
This is where Havenly came in. Working with their online portal which was so easy to navigate (and they recently gave their website a reboot – it looks fantastic!). I was able to take a short quiz to help define our taste, upload inspiration photos and links to my Pinterest boards, and set our budget. After completing the profile, I was paired with a Havenly designer, Chelsea, and worked back and forth with her through the portal to approve the designs and make changes as needed. Chelsea was great to work with and I can’t wait to show you what she came up with below for our space!
Even though I love fashion and styling, I often find myself at a complete loss when it comes to interior design. So I was happy to give up some decision-making and allow Chelsea some liberty in bringing everything together.
Our living room space is located in the front of our house and opens up both to the entry way and the dining room. One wall is dedicated for the fireplace and TV. With where our windows are in the room, it leaves one logical place for our couch. Our now empty nook space is screaming for some attention, I hope to make that into a reading area.
We want to the space to feel lived in, relaxed, yet pulled together. I want it to be a space where both my husband and I can relax and entertain our friends and family. I eventually want to paint the walls a lighter gray color, but right now I wanted to focus on furnishing the space.
Our main requests for the space:
- Large artwork above couch
- Reading Nook – Chair/Side Table/Lamp
- Wall Art/Accessories
- Shelving/Storage
I provided the following inspiration images on my profile and Chelsea came back with two options, a neutral look and one with navy accents.
Let me know in the comments below what concept you like best and stay tuned for the final concept and see what concept we decided to go with!
